Hyderabad: Unidentified miscreants on Wednesday raped and killed a veterinary doctor Priyanka Reddy at Chatanpally village under Shadnagar mandal. Her body was found under the bridge of the village.
Priyanka Reddy was reportedly returning from a hospital in Madhapur to her place of residence in Shamshabad on a Scooty. However, her vehicle tyre got punctured on the way to her residence at Chatanpally. She immediately called up her sister and told her that the tyre of her Scooty was punctured and she was scared as there were a few people around in the area. She also told her sister that although some locals tried to help her, they couldn’t do so as there were no puncture shops in the area. On hearing this, her sister advised her to go to the nearby toll plaza for her security. Minutes later, her phone was switched off.
According to police, as the area where her Scooty got punctured was crowded by lorry drivers. They suspect some lorry drivers might have kidnapped her and took her to an isolated place and raped her. They also said Priyanka might have been burnt alive by the criminals as her charred body was found in Shadnagar in Ranga Reddy district, on Thursday morning. Police said they received a call from passersby at 7.30 am that a burnt body of a woman was found near the Chatanpally village at Shamshabad.
The Shamshabad DCP formed 16 teams to track down the killers. Priyanka Reddy is the native of Narsaihpally village of Kollapur mandal. She was working as a veterinary doctor at Kollur village under Nawabpet mandal in Mahbubnagar district.
