Hyderabad: Telangana Two Wheelers Riders Association president and convener of Telangana Auto Drivers JAC Mohd Amanullah Khan has written an open letter to Chief Minister KCR today requesting him to consider and solve the problems of both the two wheeler riders and auto drivers.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Mohd Amanullah Khan released the open letter to Chief Minister stating that he is forced to undertake fast-unto-death from September 15 demanding enforcement of prohibition and the State and to prevent road accidents taking place due to drunken driving to pass a resolution in the Assembly Session making turbans compulsory instead of helmets and also demanding settlement of auto drivers’ pending and reasonable issues.
He also alleged that due to wearing of helmets not only the accidents but also crimes are increasing since the criminals are committing crimes in guise of wearing helmets without the fear of being indentified or caught. Hence, he said we are giving the slogan “Helmet Hato, Pagdi Lao Chor-Uchakkon-Se-Bachao”. He appealed to the two wheeler riders to fight for their just and reasonable demands and to do away the sign of slavery days (helmet). The Auto drivers include, like Andhra Pradesh Jagan Mohan Reddy, CKR should also allocate Rs. 10,000/- in the budget to every auto towards annual insurance charges and for minor auto repairs, the government should immediately increase the existing auto fares on par with the other neighbouring State, the government should issue 20,000 new auto permits so that the auto black marketing business going on in the city is stopped among other things.
Finally Khan made it clear that their demand is not for putting on hold but to withdraw the heavy traffic penalties once for all. K. Laxminarsaiah, Mohd Rafeeq, J Vamsi Krishna, Mohd. Dastagir, Shaik Raheem, Mohd Azeemuddin and Mohd Lateef participated in the press meet.
