Tirumala: A massive motivation campaign on “Dress Code for Darshan of Lord” will be taken up to inform the pilgrims about the sanctity of traditional dress code in Tirumala, said, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal.
When EO was attending to the calls of pilgrim callers from across the country during the monthly Dial your EO programme which took place at Annamaiah Bhavan in Tirumala on Friday, a caller Sri Srinivas from Tadepallegudem brought to the notice of EO the need to promote the importance of traditional dress among pilgrims visiting Tirumala. Reacting to the caller, the EO said, TTD has already implemented traditional dress code for men and women devotees for certain categories of devotees including Arjitha Sevas, VIP break, Rs.300 special entry darshan ticket holders in a stringent way from the past eight years.
As the percentage of Sarva Darshan and Divya Darshan pilgrims are more when compared to these paid sevas, we have not insisted dress code on them since they have to wait long hours in queues and compartments. However, the EO assured the caller that TTD will slowly take up motivation campaign in a big way on dress code so that even the general pilgrims follow the traditional dress code, he added.
