Hyderabad: IT Minister KT Rama Rao today criticized the Centre for ignoring Southern India with regard to bullet rail and Industrial development.
Speaking at the fifth anniversary of TSiPASS at Shilparamam at Madhapur here on today, KTR accused the Centre of not giving support to the Southern States. He asked to know as to why Bullet Rail only in Mumbai and Delhi and why not in Hyderabad. “For political reasons, the Centre was not giving us that facility”, he charged. “The Centre was has to encourage working States like Telangana and others to show our performance in the chosen sectors. Unfortunately the Centre is not supporting us though we are making better efforts to surpass others”, he said.
The IT Minister claimed that Telangana was No 1 in essentials of doing business. TSiPASS, a brainchild of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, has set an example and being followed by other States, he said, adding that Telangana can do miracles if the Centre supports us in the chosen sectors.
KTR exhorted the District Collectors and business people to focus on industrial expansion in the districts. The government offers hassle-free permissions to set up new businesses, companies with all facilities in just 15 days, he said. He also claimed that Rs 305 crore worth subsidies offered to the companies. They will help provide employment, jobs and economic development. “Mega companies offer 30 percent jobs, small companies 70 percent and we have to encourage medium level to compete with China”, he said. “We are providing 24 hour power to farm sector and implementing Rythu bandhu also Rythu Bhima for farmers’ welfare”, he added.
Offering support to green industries, KTR said the pharma city works will be started soon after pooling 2000 acres more land in addition to 10,000 acres already acquired. The Centre was forgetting to set up defense corridor between Hyderabad and Bengaluru as the former is noted for its defence units.
