Sangareddy: A IIT-H third year student of Indian Institute of Technology Pichikala Siddharth allegedly committed suicide by jumping off his hostel building on the premises of the campus at Kandi in Sanagreddy district on Tuesday.
The security personnel, who found the boy in a pool of blood at 3.30 am, rushed him to Continental hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The b body was sent to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for post-mortem. The college authorities informed his parents about the incident.
A native of Qutbullapur on the city outskirts, Siddhartha reportedly sent a mail to his friends and some family members informing them that he had decided to end his life because he was lagging behind in studies and may not be successful in life. College students said Siddharth used to be aloof from others and did not mingle with other students.
Sangareddy Rural Police have registered a case and took up investigation.
