Tirupati: The quarterly Srivari Metlotsavam under the aegis of TTD Dasa Sahitya Project was grandly celebrated at the Alipiri Padala mandapam on Saturday morning.
TTD JEO of Tirupati P Basant Kumar along with Vidyasindu Madhava thirtha swami of Kolar and PR Anandathirthacharya, OSD of Dasa Sahitya Project performed Metla puja to commence the holy event.
Speaking on occasion the JEO urged devotees to follow in footsteps of all saintly Dasas etc. who performed Metla puja event conducted in devotion to Lord Venkateswara.
Vidyasindhu swamiji said climbing the Tirumala hill shrine was the ultimate path to Mukti and beget blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
PR Anandathirthacharya, OSD of Dasa Sahitya Project said bhajan teams from all regions had rendered traditional Bhakti sangeet and trekked the Tirumala shrine. Special dharmic training, Antakshari program in haridasa Keerthana, contests like Dasa Sahitya quiz, Etc. were conducted at the TTDs third Choultry. The bhajan Mandal members will in turn train members in their region, he said.
Earlier the bhajan mandali members walked from the choultry to Alipiri Srivari Padala mandapam where traditional rituals were performed ahead of their trekking Tirumala. Nearly 3000 bhajan members from Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala participated.
