Hyderabad: The GHMC Mayor Bontu Rammohan on Tuesday said that they had chalked
out ambitious plans to plant 10 crore plants in the corporation limits in the next five years. He made his anouncement wileaddressingagatheringat the Nacharam based Delhi Public School . The meeting was held as part of the ‘Telangana ku Harithaharam programme’ by GHMC on the premises of the school. The local MLA from Uppal assemblyconstituencyB.SubashReddy, GHMC Commissioner M. Danakishore and other officials of the corporation took part in the program.
Speakingontheoccasion,Rammohan called upon the students of the school to plant at least ten plants as their contribution to the society. Noting that a total of three crore plants have been planted in the city during the last four phases of the harithaharam program, the mayor said that they had decided to distribute three crore plants as part of the program to the residents of the city free of cost under the ongoing fifth phase program. He also
called upon the students to act as green ambassadors and encourage others to plants trees in the city.
Dana Kishore said that they would distribute one crore plants in the first phase of the ongoing program and plant the same across the city.
