Hyderabad: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy today expressed displeasure that lakes revival in Suryapet district was on sluggish pace.
During a review meeting, the minister asked the officials concerned to revive lakes on a war-footing in Suryapet district.
The minister claimed that Mission Kakatiya, the brainchild of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is to ensure push for minor irrigation and improve farm production in villages. He asked the officials to make field level visits on the lakes revival program as Chief Minister would hold a review soon.
Jagadish Reddy asked the officials concerned to speed up the process of reviving lakes, ponds and water bodies. “We will review the case with Chief Minister soon and process would continue to help minor irrigation in villages take a leap for development. The government aims to push for steep rise in agrarian economy and farmers in villages get all support, he said.
