Hyderabad: Congress leader Konda Visweswar Reddy on Friday said that the party had won the hearts of the people of the State in the just concluded Lok Sabha elections. He said the Congress leaders and workers need not worry about their future as the party was poised to farewell in the upcoming elections.
Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan, Visweswar Reddy said he was confident of his victory from his family seat the day he left the ruling TRS party. He also said he got more than five lakh votes in the elections and continued his lead till the last round of counting of votes. He said he could not win the election as the TRS leaders threatened the voters from urban areas not to vote for him.
Visweswar Reddy said he had got majority number of votes in the rural areas of Chevella. Reddy said that he was completely free to serve the people of his constituency and added that he would devote all his time for the next five years to his constituency. Reddy alleged that the ruling party leaders created a lot of problems to them and harassed the party leaders by not giving permissions to their public Meetings. He also alleged that the ruling party leaders also threatened senior Congress leaders like Sabita Indra Reddy and forced her to extend support to the ruling party.
