Hyderabad: The process of appointing a successor to former president of Congress Rahul Gandhi has been intensified at the national capital. The important leaders of the party will hold a meeting on the issue on August 10. They will take a final decision on the issue and announce name of the successor to Rahul Gandhi.
Although it has been primarily decided to appoint a senior leader of the party as an interim president, there is a possibility that the party might appoint a permanent leader as well. The meeting of the party leaders is being held following a warning by the party MP Shashi Tharoor to the CWC that any kind of delay in the appointment of the party might lead to desertion of several leaders and workers of the party.
