Hyderabad: BJP State president Dr K Laxman today announced his party’s full support to “Million March” on November 9 called by JAC of striking RTC employees in support of their demands.
Addressing the media at the State BJP office here, Dr K Laxman said his party would support and join in the proposed Million March being organized by striking RTC employees on Saturday.
Accusing TRS government of adopting adamant attitude towards RTC employees in resolving their problems, Laxman alleged that the state government has totally failed to sort out the issues with striking employees and it is not showing any interest to solve their problems. He said over one month long RTC strike has not only affected the normal life of the general public , it has also crippled severely public transport system in the state even causing inconvenience to patients, students and employees.
Instead of showing interest to resolve the problems of 50,000 striking RTC employees, the Chief Minister was provoking and intimidating them, he alleged.
Laxman said CM KCR has given three deadlines to striking employees to join in duty and tried to intimidate them if they failed to join the duty. but striking RTC employees did not respond to deadlines issued three times by KCR. He said merely about 300 hundred employees have shown interest to join duty when 50,000 employees are on strike in support of their demands. It was a victory of RTC employees and a defeat to chief minister KCR. Chief minister KCR should take moral responsibility for not heading to his deadlines and he should resign for his failure to resolve the issue amicably, he demanded.
He alleged that TRS government is not interested to solve the problems of the striking employees instead it is more interested in usurping the properties of RTC. The government has hatched a conspiracy to privatise the RTC, but BJP would fight in support of the RTC employees till they get justice.
BJP has formed a three member committee comprising of parties Ex MPs Jitender Reddy, Dr G Vivek and Ex MLC MohanReddy and he said adding that the committee would evolve a future course of action in support of RTC employees.
Laxman said the state party has appraised the situation on the RTC strike to the state governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan and also to the BJP national working president J P Nadda and home minister Amit shah.
Holding CM KCR for the ongoing RTC strike, Laxman further alleged that the former is even trying to mislead courts by furnishing false reports by senior IAS officers deputed by the state government. The High Court has recently reprimand the state government for furnishing wrong figures about arrears to the RTC by the state government as well as GHMC, he reminded. He said KCR also misleading people about MV Act passed recently by the central government. Stating that BJP would fight against injustice being meted out to the RTC employees, the BJP state chief said the party would continue to fight judicially and politically in support of striking RTC employees till they get justice.
Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind, former MPs A.P Jitender Reddy and Dr G. Vivek were present.
