Hyderabad: The Department of Telecommunications has issued a caution to the mobile users, against frauds. ‘You are requested not to click on unknown website links received through SMS/E-mail. This may lead to download of virus, resulting in theft of personal information, banking scam etc. Issued in public interest”, the message said.
People are advised to be very cautious about SMSs, website links, etc., in the name of friendship, jobs, easy loans. It is a matter of irony that in spite of several notifications from the concerned authorities about the frauds taking place almost on every day, people are falling a pray to the unscrupulous elements out to make easy money through cheating.
One SMS says: ‘I still remember the last time we chatted. I wish to chat with you again. Pl call me on 54000318. I am waiting”. Another message says : Hi, am Maria Jimmy from U K. I have a good business proposal for you. If you are interested, get back to me . For details, my Email:email@example.com.”
Needless to say, these messages are meant to trap you and deprive you of your hard earned money. Be careful. Better to delete all such messages without second thought.
